As event chairperson, I am asking for your support of Rome ‘n Ride for the Children, a dynamic and fun-filled annual event which benefits the children of The Open Door Home in Rome, Georgia.

Attracting participants from across Northwest Georgia and beyond, dozens of volunteers are preparing for this years’ festivities.   This year’s event – the eighth annual – will center on our traditional Motorcycle Ride and annual auction.

One-hundred percent of our event’s profits are used to help put disadvantaged kids on a better road for the future. To that end, many children have received extra tutoring and other scholastic assistance resulting in long-term benefits. These accomplishments are possible because of the monies generated by our event.

The 2009 Rome ‘n Ride for the Children’s Motorcycle ride will begin Saturday, October 3rd at State Mutual Stadium and will end at Camp Skyline in Mentone, Alabama.  Our riders will enjoy a home cooked lunch, entertainment along with raffles and prizes.  These activities are being hosted by South 107, State Mutual Insurance Company and the Rome Braves.
